Hi all.
Its been a great time designing my web portfolio. Though improvising is a continous process, it is in a presentable state to start with.
Design for Emerging Markets evolved from my aim to blend the technical with the arts to form a strong, cohesive language. As an Industrial designer, I hope to concentrate on this aspect of Industrial Design further in my profession and hope to apply it not only across a range of products but across countries and specific target markets as well. Design for Emerging Markets with a focus on "the Other 90%" is also my M.F.A thesis topic, which I have begun.
V3.0 derives its inspiration from the current trends in emerging markets. The color pallete consists of oranges, yellows and shades of black creating a hunger mood. The pallete signifies a need to look into this market as well as a need to view my protoflio. Simplicity, with a lot of white space is used as the base canvas for the layout. Going with this rapidly emerging trend, words have been replaced by their visual identity making it more intuitive than ever. Last but not the least, I have tried to incorporate all typography rules wherever possible, and those that have been broken were done so consciously and intentionally.
Comments, critiques and suggestions are always welcome and I will personally be glad to accept them from people from other majors as well.
I am indeed grateful to all of my friends and mentors who have advised me throughout this journey. A special thanks to Prof. Bob Fee who has gone beyond his means to help me with my portfolio. This is an effort to blend my technical, industrial and advertising knowledge that I have accumulated over the last 3 yrs here, at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA.
