Getting to downtown Savannah

The Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) serves the Savannah area:  Periodic buses operated by the Chatham Authority Transport (CAT) run every half an hour from the airport to downtown Savannah. The cost is $1.50. You can expect a taxi from Savannah-Hilton Head International to your downtown hotel to cost about $30 (excluding tip+$5 per extra person).

Getting to Arnold Hall, SCAD

Arnold Hall is located at 1810 Bull St., Savannah, GA 31401. The phone number for SCAD Helpdesk is +1 912 525 500.  The department building is easily accessed by public transportation (CAT bus ) and by a taxi.

What to do with your free time

There's a lot to do in Savannah!  Of course you won't want to miss any of the exciting conference program, but with your free time you can easily explore:

  • Savannah's riverfront. Most Hotels are in walking distance to Savannah's River Street. The walks are extremely scenic with pedestrian freindly sidewalks and roads.  For more on Savannah's river scene, please go to: http://www.savannahvisit.com/tour.asp
  • Savananh's squares. Savannah Downtown is nested in 22 beautiful squares, each being dinstictive in design and layout. The city's famous layout adds to the charm of Downtown.
  • Tybee Beach. One of the least commercialized beaches lie north of Savannah. A typical drive of 22 miles will take you 30-35 mins. Enjoy the North beach side where the Savannah River meets the ocean and the Tybee Lighthouse or visit the Tybee Pier which will take you a mile into the ocean!
