2D + 3D Visualaization: Sketching, story boarding, concurrent mind mapping while brainstorming and prototyping in various mediums. Software: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Rhino, Sketchbook Pro and Microsoft Office. Can understand CSS and HTML and fluent with Joomla based websites.
Ideation: Iterative process includes combining abductive thinking, sweat equity and ethnography as well as trend forecasting. Collaborative Projects Experience
DESIGN
Hope 2 One Life Inc., Billings, MT, September 2007–Present • Working with A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) to accelerate the diffusion of providing clean drinking water to the poor. Process involved redesigning of a water filter, proposals for a village enterprise in Uganda and sustainable NGO model. Several field trips and prototypes of filters were made in USA and Uganda.
St. Joseph Candler Hospital, Savannah, GA, January 2007 • Redesigning the day surgery unit. Traffic and material flows along with special requirement zones were created based on hospital and staff needs. On-site contextual research was the driver of change for the new plans.
Freelance Project with Target and Reel Hose, USA, December 2006 • Developed new designs for garden hose reel racks along with user market research, contextual enquiry, concept sketching, trend forecasting and future model proposals.
LEADERSHIP and MANAGEMENT
P&G Design Charrette, IDSA 2009 National Conference, Miami, October 2009 • Represented SCAD for a three day design charrette on future IDSA conferences. Guided by P&G Design Managers, this extensive collaboration between students and industry resulted in the creation of a new design+strategy model for IDSA conferences and culminated with a short skit presented at the closing IDEA awards ceremony.
Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA, June 2009–August 2009 • Teaching assistantship with the Dean, school of design, SCAD to assist him in the Industrial Design Senior studio class. Mentored and guided students through the design process of their final projects. Developed an online resource and information channel using new media and technology to improve class performance and explore new methods of teaching.
Visualizing online collaboration at SCAD, Savannah, GA, September 2008 • Visualizing and analyzing the temporal dynamics of communication flows within SCAD. Collaborated with online teams comprising of Business students from University of Cologne, Germany and Computer Engineers from University of Helsinki, Finland. Focused on organizational collaboration networks by analyzing communication flows between people using the Condor software. Gain intuitive understanding of the inner working of teams. Discovered patterns of trends and its trendsetters to facilitate effective collaboration and communication as well as measure impact of decisions in collaboration.
BRANDING and STRATEGY
JCB Backhoe Loader, USA September 2007 • Redesigning the brand language for the exteriors as well as interiors of the 3CX Backhoe Loader Cab. Identifying a brand strategy to revitalize their market share in the USA. Focused on primarily the ergonomics and human factors of the backhoe cab along with several 2D/3D renderings and models of the cab.
Farmer D organics and The Market at Trustees Garden, Savannah, GA,July 2008 • Ideating a business model based on sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Collaborating with Graphic designers and Design management students to develop the branding and marketing aspect of various services and products. Focusing on brand identity with the development of a logo, website and a bio-diesel cart.
Parker’s Companies, Savannah, GA,September 2006 • Established a clear brand identity for Parker’s unique brand of convenient stores and gourmet market; and potential target market in Savannah. Adapted comprehensive data by Clickin Research into the re-design on teenage customers. (National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS)/Coca-Cola Leadership Council (NCCLC) in 2005 sponsored a thorough investigation of convenience store industry trends and customer attributes). Developed future strategies and expansion plans for their stores.
